The Treadle Feeder is a useful addition to any flock as it decreases food wastage while also protecting it from vermin.
Due to the Treadle Feeder's patented design, it keeps the poultry feed completely sealed until the weight of a hen is applied. Once the bird stands on the feeder, the feeder opens allowing the bird to feed. When the bird steps off the feeder, the lid closes again, protecting the food from rats and mice and wild birds. This fantastic feature will save lots of money in stolen or wasted food!
The 7.5kg Galvanised Treadle Feeder has a capacity of 10 Litres which equals approximately 7.5kg of pelleted food.
The treadle shutter has 2 different bird weight settings which is easy changed by changing the swing arms to the front holes for lighter birds.
The all-weather galvanised treadle feeder can not be operated by vermin (they aren't heavy enough to trigger the opening of the feed trough), and it also cannot be operated by smaller wild birds. Since vermin can't access the feeder, huge savings will be made in terms of decreased food wastage.
The Treadle Feeder is made from heavy duty galvanised steel which protects the feed from UV damage and gives the feeder a very long lifespan.
